My name is Chad Killian, I created Beverageprofessor.com in order to help people working in any realm of the alcohol sales industry learn more about the alcoholic beverages they sell. The past twenty years I have worked as alcohol beverage sales rep. Prior to this, I also bartended, and managed retail stores for Wal-Mart. During my time as a sales rep, I have seen the struggles retail and restaurant managers have faced in getting staff trained about the alcohol they sell. The retail and restaurant industry also struggle with turnover, so the training is an on-going process. My mission is to make Beverageprofessor.com a site helpful with the education process.
During my time as a liquor sales rep, I have been trained in wine, liquor and beer. I feel very comfortable discussing any of these topics. However, I realize I do not know everything, so I will be reaching out to the industry pros for help, and doing a lot of research along the way. Something I continue to see are businesses losing out on alcohol sales due to the lack of education. Many grocery stores and big box retailers are adding alcohol departments to their stores. These departments can be a profitable area of the store if the person running them has good knowledge in order to help customers make purchasing decisions.
